The honey bear is street artist fnnch's signature, and for Burning Man he wanted it off the wall: his bears in three dimensions, free-standing on the playa, built so people could push them. We made them giant bop bags, with 22 gallons of water in each base, holding his exact proportions in the least cooperative material there is.
"The bears were an absolute triumph," fnnch told us. "Many people came to me saying it was their favorite sculpture of the year." Burning Man named them the best attraction of the event and filmed a documentary about them. Art, inflated. Nothing lost in translation.
